Is this headset compatible with the Xbox 360 and is it wireless?

I doubt it. It is a PC gaming headset with virtual surround sound software that would not be possible on a console. If it doesn't directly state somewhere on Azio's site that it does then it probably doesn't. It is not wireless. Has about an 8ft USB cable.

Question 2

is this headset surround sound?

It has the option for digital surround sound, but you have to download the program online. Which I believe they tell you where to go, but you can find it easily online either way. In my opinion the digital surround sound is good, especially for the price, which was 50$ or so on sale. Oh and digital surround sound is where they use noise cancellations effects to make the sound seem like its coming from different directions. When using them for gaming I can tell what direction things are coming from due to the digital surround sound. Hope you find this helpful.

Question 3

I don't see a lot of people mentioning the quality of the microphone in their reviews? I am interested in using this for recording (Let's Plays) and possibly streaming, so I want to know if the microphone has any pros or cons I should be aware about. Thanks!

I have used mine in games mostly, using both in-game voice chat and TeamSpeak. The voice quality is generally good although it is subject to room effects. For example when configuring my microphone in TS, my voice sounded a little bit like I was speaking over a PA system with a faint echoing noise. Turning off the bass vibration (basically rumble packs for sound) reduced it somewhat (as well as canceling out the sympathetic feedback the vibrations were causing). If you have a spare headset mic pop filter, that might also cut down on the room effects and smooth out the sound quality (the mic bulb at the end would also keep the filter in place). Unfortunately I don't have one available, but I haven't gotten any complaints about my voice quality. Overall, I would say it's a reasonably good microphone. It might work for what you need with a few modifications (or a good audio mixer), but there are some downsides to the mic as-is.

Is there a mute button on the headset?

No mute button, but there is a volume control on the side that's very easy to use so it can be turned down to zero quickly.

sound comes out of one side only, any idea on how to fix it?

I never had much luck using these because of the MIC picking up sounds from the muffs... Make sure to install the controller software (available download from the aziocorp website). I never had issues with the sound but never was able to get the mic work well...
