Dear newegg,

OK I want to purchase this but the add is unclear to me. What does DD-WRT Open Source Support mean? It also says it does not have a wireless adapter what does that mean does that mean it does not have the power cord with it. When I see this product described in other adds and offers It does not mention any of the things this add mentions..So I am not sure I am getting the same item I have seen in other adds for this model I have been looking for the Netgear R6300 AC1750 (450-1300 mbs) which can control up to 12 or more wireless devices. This is a lot of money to get ripped off. So I need clear and precise information the information see like it may be for a DSL signal rather than connection with a cable modem. Can you please respond.

Bryan, I am not the most tech savvy guy in the world...but, Newegg sent me your question because I bought 1 of these.  I actually have bought 4 of them.  It is a phenomenal router.  It came with the power adaptor, and 1 Ethernet cable.  It has 4 gigabit ports on the rear.  I have 27 wireless devices in my house, and it handles them all like a champ.  I stream HD all over the place from Tivo to Tivo, and Slingplayer to me iPhone/iPad on the road.  My mac is placed right next to it, and I game wireless.  It is placed right after my cable modem like any router.  I use Ooma voip service and get crystal clear quality.  Nuff said?

I have been very happy with it.  No problems.  Very powerful.  Lots of options in the set up.  I do not know whether other routers might be as good or better, because I have not tried any more since I purchased two R6300's.  I just know it does everything as advertised and I would buy it again.

Are there any links to connecting NG R6300 to a Verizon Fios router/modem (VF modem)? What I want to do is connect to the NG for internet and wifi. I have Verizon local TV and STB. I followed a post on how to change MI424WRev 1 to broadband WAN for STB and Ethernet.  I released the lease on the IP and changed to No IP address. Problem: My STB is working. C6300 and does not get a IP address. Is the reason the C6300 in not working is because it does not have a Ethernet WAN port( just 4 LAN ports). The R6300 has 1WAN and 3LAN Ethernet ports.

Shopper:  I might be able to help.  I bought two AC1750 routers and they are both working great.  No complaints.  Anyway, I could not get them both to work on the internet at first -- this sounds like a similar problem to yours.  The solution was to connect router 1 in the conventional manner to the Internet using a cable between the WAN port and the cable modem.  One of the LAN channels 1 thru 4 for router 1 was then connected to LAN Channel 1 of the second router, NOT the usual internet WAN port.

Then, everything worked and I could use LAN channels 2 thru 4 on router 2, and they have internet access.  The router 2 internet access set up has a big red warning that there is no cable connected to my Internet Port, which is True.  But it Works, and that is what counts.  Router 1 works too -- LAN channels 2 thru 4 provide internet access.  And I have expanded WiFi coverage, with both routers providing WiFi access.

I have the R6300 ,AC1750. We just had At&T U verse installed. When the Netgear is connected by download speed and upload speed dropped to  .63 and .07. Is it not compatible with AT&T?

Is this R6300 a Version "2", or the older v1. If you look at the printing on the power supply,  the v2, is 12 VDC @ 2.5A output,  while the v1 is 12V DC @ 5A, output?

Version 2 faster, more stable. V1 had problems from my research, I bought version 2 and no real issues. once in a while a hiccup but thats it.
