After months of speculation, Samsung has finally unveiled the Galaxy S5 and put all the rumors to rest. The new flagship phone is bigger, faster and more powerful than the S4, but the Twittersphere is calling the S5 design “boring”.

Like most things in life, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. The Galaxy S5 may look similar to its predecessor but this updated version is waterproof, comes equipped with finger-scanning technology, and features an impressive new camera too. So, should you upgrade?

Take a look at the specs below and decide for yourself:

  • Processor: 2.5GHz quad-core
  • Storage: 16GB, 32GB
  • Display: 5.1-inch, 1920×1080, 432ppi, Super AMOLED
  • Memory: 2GB RAM
  • Rear Camera: 16MP, 4K video, HDR processing
  • Front Camera: 2.1MP
  • Battery: 2,800 mAh
  • Network: 4G LTE Cat. 4 150/50Mbps
  • Connectivity: USB 3.0, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC
  • Water Resistance: IP67, 3 feet, 30 minutes
  • Height: 5.59 inches (142mm)
  • Weight:  5.11 ounces (145g)
  • Colors: White, Black, Blue, Gold
  • OS: Android 4.4 (KitKat)

The S5 is not a groundbreaking device but it is still an update to one of the most popular smarthphones ever built. It’s a familiar design with upgraded hardware, a couple of new features, and arguably the best mobile operating system of all time.

In a world where technology is evolving every day, Samsung did the right thing by sticking with a formula that works. The S5 builds upon everything people love about the S4 and makes it faster and easier to use. And, no matter what it costs, there’s a good chance it will be the most successful Galaxy yet.

The Galaxy S5 will launch on April 11th and be available on newegg.com soon.
