How is the built in wifi on this board?

It works very well. I haven't had any issues connecting or dropping signal. Connection is reliable and fast. Also, unlike some of the other WiFi MBs all wires are already connected. Have had zero issues

I would like a very small form factor tower. Has anyone used this in a mini atx case? It will be a minimal build, but I may want a (not gaming) video card, I'll be using M.2 on underside of the board etc. I'm wondering how everything fits into a mini atx case? Anyone using a better CPU cooler? Or does the stock cooler work well for an i5-7500 or similar?

Depends on your case. I have this in a fractal design define nano S which is a larger mini ITX case. The hole in the back of the motherboard plate did not line up to allow access to the M.2 slot. But there was enough room for a much larger cooler. Put your list in pcpartspicker and it should help with stats like cooler clearance.

does it support a vr ready graphics card?

You can plug in 1 card, i have for both a Nvidia Geforce 9xx and10xx. The case you plug this into will more likely inform if you can fit it.

Where is the M.2 Storage slot? I don't see it in the image

It is on the underside of the motherboard, which is where it will be for nearly all Mini ITX Motherboards with an M.2 storage slot. The wireless card is connected to a vertical M.2 slot near the rear I/O  panel.

A new Z board and no usb 3.1? or am I missing it?

I honestly believe there is an error in the description.  Is says B250i and Z270.  It has to be one or the other.  I think this will be a B250 motherboard when released.  I don't see this board on MSIs website yet and the only place i see it is here and BH Photo.  Maybe an Admin from Newegg can clear this up for us and let us know when it will be available.

Yes, it has a standard PCI slot that is compatible with full sized GPUs. If you're buying a mini-ITX case too, make sure that the case fits the GPU that you've chosen as that's often the limiting factor.

Specs show 4x288pin RAM slots, but pictures only have two... Are there only two RAM slots on this board?

It has only two slots. Some of the product info isn't correct on Newegg, like the name indicating it's a Z270 chipset when it's actually a B250. Check the official specs on MSI's site for the correct product info. I ordered this and did receive the correct product, even though the specs are wrong.
