Could we add a second HDD/SSD on this laptop ?

Yes there is an open ssd slot that is easily accessible from the bottom of the laptop as well as an open ram slot if you feel like throwing in some more.

Can Ubuntu 18.04 be installed on this laptop?

Yes, but it's a little tricky to get the Nvidia GPU working at first. Without addressing that, you'll just login to a blank screen after installing Ubuntu since the default graphics driver (a non-Nvidia, open source one) doesn't work properly. If you end up purchasing this laptop and need that info, please leave another comment here since I have put Ubuntu 18.04 on this machine but don't want to write a long thing about it if you don't end up needing the info.
